Mania Doucette, LMFT

Picture

I specialize in working with  children and adults suffering from depression/anxiety, low self-esteem, grief/loss,  LGBT concerns, teen/child issues, and PTSD/Trauma.

I also conduct Bariatric Psychological Evaluations for those in the process of receiving weight loss surgery.  In addition, I value myself as a resource for bariatric clients needing additional support on their bariatric journey in the form of individual counseling in order to help achieve optimal weight loss success through the processing of one's thoughts and emotions.

As a therapist, my goal is to be a non-biased support for you as we manage and process your hurdles. If your goal is personal growth, my role is to not change who you are, but to help you become holistically happier and a more fulfilled version of yourself.

No one has ever written a book that says, "Life is easy". Though we cannot control all that our life's journey brings to us, we can control how we perceive it and get through it. I hope you may feel the empowerment that can come from the therapy process.

I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, both empirically proven to be effective. I believe that thoughts do affect your behavior. If thought patterns change then so does behavior. Depending on the client's needs, I also utilize mindfulness training, meditation, and art therapy in sessions.
